Things upcoming in District 1 and beyond: 4/12/23 Next City Council meeting will be on April 25th.
At the last council meeting I proposed that before we renovate a park, we try to determine if the park is being used first. A renovation can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and adding a shade structure to each park another $150,000+. If the park isn't being used, than should the city spend so much money? I suggested that instead, we plant more trees especially at parks that will not be renovated for 15-20 years so they can grow and provide natural shade for a cost of $16,000 a park. Additionally, shade structures need to have the covering replaced about every 10 years at a cost of approx. half of the original cost. How do you feel about this? Contact be at my email below....
