District 1 - City Council Updates:
Things upcoming in District 1 and beyond:
1/24/23
The upcoming budget was first discussed. I proposed that we look at building the community theatre that was first considered last April 2016. We are an Arts friendly community so lets showcase local talent and provide new entertainment for the community
The lake promenade overlooking North Beach was shown. We now have a new place to rest and enjoy the lake or view a lake event even if you are not a member of the lake association.
* Commissioner applications will be reopened soon with the new "no term limit" proposal considered at the last council meeting. Term will still be 2 years however there is no maximum amount of terms that can be served.
(I was not in favor of extending terms)
* We will soon be revisiting the Core Vision Project to get a better look at the possibilities of creating a downtown community space to enjoy for the future. Further information will be provided at the next Council Meeting
* The Traffic Commission will soon be reviewing the proposal for a controlled crosswalk from the lake entrance to the ball fields across the street for use when there is a need for mass entrance or exit from lake events. A date will be posted when this proposal will be reviewed.
